Next to the flagship Pixel 4, Google today released an update of its “Pixel Buds 2” wireless earphones. And well, the earphones are no longer tied with a string but instead they are now really wireless like Apple Airpods and Samsung Galaxy Buds.
The Pixel Buds 2 have been designed to offer maximum comfort and should fit perfectly in the ears – less strange than the huge Microsoft Surface earphones. Not surprisingly, Google has also incorporated in-ear detection technology into Pixel Buds 2.
It will automatically detect when I am inside the ear and well, the flat surface on the outside offers touch controls to adjust the listening, pause and adjust the volume.
The Pixel Buds 2 charging case, as seen in the image above, can be defined as a thicker version of the Apple Airpods case. It has a rounded egg shape, from the appearance it seems to be affixed.
Google also talked about the long-range Bluetooth connectivity of the earphones, saying that a user can continue to listen to music even when they are three rooms away from the phone.
Well, Pixel Buds cannot be complete without hands-free support from Google Assistant. Simply say “Hey Google” and the microphone will revive the assistant in the ear to answer your questions. It is not necessary to take the Pixel phone to do this.
Google has not disclosed the size of the charging case battery but says it should provide users with a 24-hour battery life. Earphones, on the other hand, are said to offer 5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge before you have to put them back in the case.
Google Pixel Buds 2 is priced at $ 179 and will be on sale starting in 2021. The Mountain View giant leapt up to upgrade the wireless earphones, but the delayed launch could hinder its sales thanks to some very seasoned competitors.
